Outdoor Leader Skills (OLS) is an overnight hands-on training for Boy Scout leaders. It covers outdoor camping skills (cooking, knots, woods tools, etc.). Learn new skills, reinforce old ones, and build confidence to teach these skills to Scouts. For Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters, this course is part of the requirements to earn the "Trained" patch. It's also part of the requirements for adult leaders of a Venturing crew that runs an outdoor program.
$20 for leaders registered in Old Colony Council; $30 for out-of-council leaders.* This charge covers Friday evening snack and Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with training supplies.
*Old Colony Council leaders get a discount because basic leader training costs are subsidized by an activity fee that all of our Scouts pay with their annual registration.
