Information about this coming Saturdays Annual Council Recognition Dinner:

Thorny Lea Golf Club requires Dress is Business Attire and not Business Casual. Thank You

It's been bought to our attention that numerous Adult Volunteers are hearing from their unit commissioners that they are not Youth Protection Trained even though they have done the online Youth Protection Training. In order for the records to be updated the Adult will need to log into their account and add their BSA Member ID # as well as the Council name to their Profile page. Once this is completed all online trainings taken will be visible to the Council Office as well as the unit commissioners. Please make sure that all of your registered volunteers in your unit are aware of this. BSA Member Id #s are found on the individuals member ID card and Scoutmasters/Cubmasters can see everyone in their units member ID #s through their own account. Thank You

The Old Colony Council, BSA is holding its Sixth annual Eagle Scout

Recognition Dinner to honor the Class of 2013 Eagle Scouts

This year’s dinner will be held on

Thursday, June 12, 2014

6 Billings Street, Randolph MA

6:00 PM

203 young men who have attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 2013 will be recognized and honored for their achievement.
Congratulations to the 2013 Eagle Scout Class
We invite adult community and corporate business leaders to host one of these young Eagle Scouts. Based upon a mutual career interest we match leaders with an Eagle Scout with a similar career interest. This is as a wonderful opportunity to mentor a young man.
This year we are pushing to make the matches much earlier, so you have time to contact your Eagle Scout and introduce yourself. For information on sponsoring an Eagle Scout please call Jim Corcoran, Director of Development 781-828-8360 or email

Dinner invitations were mailed to the Eagles at their home address in January. If you did not receive your invitation or have not RSVP please call the Council Service Center 781-828-8360.

Beginning this month the Boston Globe is launching a program called GRANT (Globe Readers And Non-Profits Together). Through this initiative, their valued subscribers will be receiving a voucher in the mail that will enable them to allocate a designated amount (either $50 or $100 depending on subscription type) to a community 501(C)(3) non-profit of their choice.  Subscribers will be asked to fill in the voucher with the name of their non-profit organization and return it to the globe, where it will be tallied.  The Boston Globe will be collecting these vouchers until March 1, 2014.  In return the Boston Globe will give advertising space to the non-profit organization.  The more Vouchers received the more advertising space the non-profit organization will receive.  We are asking that if you are a Boston Globe Subscriber you will help the Old Colony Council BSA in receiving some of this space.  This will be a Great way to spread the word about Scouting in our area.  We Thank you for your continued support.  For More information please visit
