New Cub Scout Adventure Program -- Webelos/AOL Transition - Option Added

Based on feedback coming out to the new Cub Scout adventure program announcements at National Annual meeting and subsequent, we will be adding an option on how boys move from Webelos to Arrow of Light in 2015 only.

The new option, listed as  Option 1 in the attached, allows boys who earned their Webelos rank prior to June 2015 to continue using the current requirements and their current handbook to complete their Arrow of Light requirements.

Option 2 allows a boy to bridge into the new program, using the new required adventures and also using activity pins earned in the current program but not applied to Webelos rank requirements to satisfy elective requirements in the new program.

The new program requirements for Webelos and Arrow of Light place a significant emphasis on the skills and concepts necessary for a successful transition into Boy Scouts.  Den leaders are encouraged to review the new requirements closely and make the best decision for the boys in their den.

The new transition document will post to with the next server update and Bryan Wendell will blog about the new option on Monday, 7/7.

In 2015, more than 30,000 Scouts and leaders from 161 countries around the world will converge on Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi, Japan, for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree.
The event will provide opportunities to raise awareness about global issues, explore the environment, participate in community service, make friends from around the world, and deepen understanding of developments in science and technology. The world jamboree is a unique opportunity for participants to experience an exciting program of activities, including: Global Development Village, City of Science, Cross Road of Culture, and the Peace Program.
Participants will live and learn with fellow Scouts from around the world. They will be housed in tents along with the BSA contingent but will soon venture out to mingle with tens of thousands of people for two weeks of activities and adventure. That’s right, a world fellowship exercise on an enormous scale! Visit to

It's been bought to our attention that numerous Adult Volunteers are hearing from their unit commissioners that they are not Youth Protection Trained even though they have done the online Youth Protection Training. In order for the records to be updated the Adult will need to log into their account and add their BSA Member ID # as well as the Council name to their Profile page. Once this is completed all online trainings taken will be visible to the Council Office as well as the unit commissioners. Please make sure that all of your registered volunteers in your unit are aware of this. BSA Member Id #s are found on the individuals member ID card and Scoutmasters/Cubmasters can see everyone in their units member ID #s through their own account. Thank You
